The Baker Hughes Rig Counts are an important business barometer for the drilling industry and its suppliers. When drilling rigs are active they consume products and services produced by the oil service industry. The active rig count acts as a leading indicator of demand for products used in drilling, completing, producing and processing hydrocarbons. The international rig count is released on the fifth working day of each month.

The North American rig count is issued as a service to the petroleum industry. In 1944 they began weekly counts of US and Canadian drilling activity.  These are an important business barometer for the drilling industry and its suppliers. Crude oil production quantities are estimated by state and summed to the PADD and the US level. State production estimates reported by EIA are normally different from data reported by state agencies. And the totals may not equal sum of components due to independent rounding.

The domestic crude oil price represents the average price at the lease at which domestic crude oil is purchased. For the purpose of this survey, the United States includes the 50 States, the outer continental shelf and the District of Columbia.

The Domestic Uranium Production Report published by the Energy Information Administration includes data on the uranium industry in the United States. It is published both quarterly and yearly, with the annual report containing indicators covering broader topics.

The EIA Drilling Productivity Report uses recent data on the total number of drilling rigs in operation along with estimates of drilling productivity and estimated changes in production from existing oil and natural gas wells to provide estimated changes in oil and natural gas production for seven key regions. This report also includes a supplement that provides monthly estimates of drilled but uncompleted wells (DUCs) in the 7 DPR regions.

This report contains weekly heating oil and propane prices for several regions throughout the US. The data is only collected during the heating seasons which extends from October through March.

The Liquefied Natural Gas Additions to and Withdrawals from Storage report from the Energy Information Administration is an annual release containing by-state data tracking changes in storage levels of Liquefied Natural Gas.

This report collects sales of electricity and associated revenue, each month, from a statistically chosen sample of electric utilities in the United States.

The Monthly Energy Review is a publication of recent energy statistics. This publication includes total energy production, consumption, and trade; energy prices; overviews of petroleum, natural gas, coal, electricity, nuclear energy, and renewable energy; carbon dioxide emissions; and data unit conversions values.

The Natural Gas Monthly highlights activities, events, and analyses of interest to public and private sector organizations associated with the natural gas industry.  Volume and price data are presented each month for natural gas production, distribution, consumption, and interstate pipeline activities.  Producer‐related activities and underground storage data are also reported. The data in this publication are collected on surveys conducted by EIA to fulfill its responsibilities for gathering and reporting energy data.  Geographic coverage is the 50 States and the District of Columbia.

New York Mercantile Exchange futures contracts for natural gas prices are based on delivery at the Henry Hub in Louisiana.

Natural Gas Underground Storage Capacity contains information regarding the state by state and national natural gas storage capabilities for the United States. It is reported on a monthly basis.

The data previously published in the Drilling Productivity Report is now published with the Short-Term Energy Outlook data.

Underground Storage by All Operators is a monthly report from the Energy Information Administration which contains data regarding natural gas storage activity by state and region

Underground Storage by Type is a monthly report from the Energy Information Administration which contains data regarding natural gas storage activity in the United States.

The US Petroleum Product Supplied summary is produced by the US Energy Information Administration. It contains the total quantity supplied by type. It is believed to act as a fair proxy for petroleum product consumption in the US.

Every Monday from October through March of the heating season, EIA collects information on retail

The Weekly Natural Gas Storage report tracks US natural gas inventories held in underground storage facilities. The weekly stocks generally are the volumes of working gas as of the report date.

The Weekly Petroleum Status Report provides timely information on supply and selected prices of crude oil and principal petroleum products. It provides the industry, press, planners, policymakers, consumers, analysts, and State and local governments with a ready, reliable source of current information.
