With a nominal GDP $1.85 trillion, Russia is the ninth largest economy in the world. In the past 20 years, Russia has undergone massive changes, going to a market-based, globally-integrated economy from a centrally-planned economy. Nonetheless, Russia is still considered to have a developing economy by the IMF and World Bank. Russia has an abundance of natural resources, including coal, natural gas, oil, and precious metals.
