US Producer Price Index MoM is the month over month percent change in the Producer Price Index, or PPI. The PPI measures the average changes in prices received by domestic producers for their output, and can be used as a gauge for how much pricing power producers have. The PPI is used in conjunction with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) to understand how prices are changing in the US economy. A change in the PPI often anticipates a change in the CPI.
