International House Price Database Report

The International House Price Database uses publicly available, national sources, and includes quarterly data on nominal and real house prices. It was made publicly available by the Globalization and Monetary Policy Institute at the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas to promote research done by scholars, researchers, and policymakers on international house price data.

Real Trade-Weighted Value of the Dollar Report

The indexes in this report calculate the inflation-adjusted value of the U.S. dollar against currencies of the countries with which the state trades. The real exchange rates are aggregated across countries using the average export share to the country. These indexes should help precisely identify exchange rate movements that affect demand for each state's exports.

Texas Leading Index Report

The Texas Leading Index provides information on the future of Texas's economy. It is comprised of eight leading indicators which tend to change direction before the overall economy. These indicators include the Texas value of the dollar, the US leading index, real oil price, well permits, initial claims for unemployment insurance, the Texas stock index, help-wanted index, and the average weekly hours worked in manufacturing.

Texas Manufacturing Outlook Survey Report

Each month, the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas sends the Texas Manufacturing Outlook Survey to area manufacturers. Respondents report on how various indicators have changed: increased, decreased, or remained the same. The survey covers facets of business operation ranging from employee work week to new orders. Roughly 100 manufacturers participate each month.

Texas Retail Outlook Survey Report

Trimmed Mean PCE Inflation Rate Report

The trimmed mean PCE inflation rate is an alternate measure of inflation in the price index for personal consumption expenditures calculated by the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas using data from the Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA). It is calculated by removing a certain fraction of the most extreme observations and then taking a weighted average of the remaining observations. The trimmed mean PCE inflation rate has been shown to outperform the usual measure of excluding food and energy as a guage of core inflation in the economy.
