The US PCE Inflation Rate is the percentage in which a chosen basket of goods and services purchased in the US increases in price over a year. US PCE Inflation Rate is similar to the US Inflation Rate (based on the CPI) in that they aim to measure the increase in prices of goods and services in the US economy, however they differ in their methodologies, and thus produce different estimates. CPI is based on a survey of what households are buying; the PCE is based on surveys of what businesses are selling. |
