Gross Profit Margin is calculated using Gross Profit/Revenue. This metric measures the overall efficiency of a company in being able to turn revenue into gross profit and doing this by keeping cost of goods sold low. An analyst looking at gross profit margin might look for a higher gross profit margin relative to other comparable companies as well as a gross profit margin that is growing.
