    Sector: Financial Services
Industry: Insurance - Property & Casualty

The Hanover Insurance Group, Inc., based in Worcester, Massachusetts, is one of the oldest continuous businesses in the United States, still operating within its original industry. It was the original name of a property-liability insurance firm born in 1852, and it remained a publicly-traded company under that name until the early 1990s, when it changed its name to Allmerica Property & Casualty Companies. The Hanover offers a wide range of property and casualty products and services to businesses, individuals, and families through a select group of independent agents. The company operates through three segments: Commercial Lines, Personal Lines and Other Property and Casualty. The company is ranked among the top 25 property and casualty insurers in the United States and has been meeting its obligations to its agent partners and their customers for nearly 160 years. The Hanover maintains excellent ratings from A.M. Best, Standard & Poor’s and Moody’s.
