NL Industries, Inc., through its subsidiary, CompX International, Inc., engages in the manufacture and sale of precision ball bearing slides, security products, and ergonomic computer support systems used in office furniture, computer-related, and other applications. It offers a line of precision ball bearing slides, including an integrated slide lock, for use in office furniture, computer-related equipment, tool storage cabinets, imaging equipment, file cabinets, desk drawers, automated teller machines, refrigerators, and other applications. The company’s security products include cabinet locks and other locking mechanisms, such as disc tumbler locking and pin tumbler locking mechanisms. NL Industries provides its security products to various industries, including institutional furniture, banking, industrial equipment, recreational vehicles, vending, and computer. The company’s ergonomic computer support systems and accessories include articulating computer keyboard support arms, central processing unit storage devices, ergonomic wrist rest aids, mouse pad supports, and computer monitor support arms. In addition, CompX offers its engineering and design capabilities for the design and manufacture of products on a proprietary basis for its customers. It sells its products to original equipment manufacturers and distributors in North America and Taiwan. Further, the company provides insurance brokerage and risk management services. NL Industries was organized in 1891 and is based in Dallas, Texas. NL Industries, Inc. is a subsidiary of Valhi, Inc.
