Kids Foot Locker Launches 'New Kids in Town' Content Series Featuring NBA Stars Exploring their New Hometowns

Three-part digital content series features NBA players helping young fans get acquainted to their new cities.

NEW YORK, Dec. 7, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Kids Foot Locker, part of Foot Locker, Inc. (NYSE: FL), today is teaming up with Isaiah Thomas, Jimmy Butler and D'Angelo Russell, three top NBA players who were recently traded to new teams, to help show new-to-town young fans around their respective cities.

The holiday campaign kicks off today with the release of the first video featuring Cleveland's new point guard, Isaiah Thomas, showing 12 year-old London Arrington around their new hometown of Cleveland. Thomas welcomes London to Cleveland with some of the hottest Nike footwear and apparel from Kids Foot Locker, including the Air Force 1 High "Bordeaux." He shows her some of his favorite spots in Cleveland, including a local candy shop and the Greater Cleveland Aquarium.

"Since moving from Boston, I've been really focused on the current NBA season and getting to know the great city of Cleveland and our incredible fans," said Thomas. "The people of Cleveland have been so welcoming to me, so I jumped at the opportunity to team up with Kids Foot Locker to give a similarly warm welcome to a kid who is new like me, as she gets familiarized with the city."

Kids Foot Locker will release additional digital spots as a part of the content series beginning on Dec. 14, featuring Jimmy Butler exploring Minneapolis, and then on Dec. 21, with the third and final spot featuring D'Angelo Russell in his new hometown of Brooklyn, N.Y.

"We are excited to team up with Isaiah, Jimmy and D'Angelo because we know that being the 'new kid in town' can be intimidating – even if you are a top NBA player," said Patrick Walsh, vice president of marketing for Kids Foot Locker. "Outfitted in the latest footwear and apparel from Kids Foot Locker this holiday season, kids everywhere will feel confident in any new situation they may face."
