Bridgepoint Education and Ashford University Volunteers Participate in Junior Achievement's "Teach for a Day"
SAN DIEGO, June 14, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Thirty San Diego-based employees from Bridgepoint Education (NYSE: BPI) and its academic institution, Ashford University, partnered with Junior Achievement of San Diego County to teach financial literacy concepts to elementary school students during a "JA Teach Day" event on June 7. The event, held at Foster Elementary School in San Diego, Calif., marks the 10th consecutive year Bridgepoint and Ashford have supported Junior Achievement as part of the "JA Teach Day" event.
"JA Teach Day" is a Junior Achievement-sponsored program designed to introduce young students to economic concepts through engaging themes and lesson plans. Students are encouraged to consider career interest, economics, on-the-job thinking and the activities involved in a day in the workplace. Bridgepoint and Ashford volunteers were assigned a grade level and given material geared toward those students.
