Despite record rainfall, California's drought is far from over
OriginClear's CEO stresses importance of water reuse and conservation

"California and other parts of America are experiencing record levels of rainfall this year," said Riggs Eckelberry, OriginClear CEO, in a recent interview conducted by Kinsley Street Investors Group. "But water waste is still a problem. For example, in California alone, nearly 60% of freshwater allocated to farming is lost to evaporation and runoff. And in Los Angeles, 80% of the rain goes into the ocean."

In a sign of increasing adoption by the oil and gas industry, this year's Hart Energy's latest DUG (Developing Unconventional Gas) conference will feature a water forum, which will "deliver insights on best practices and new technologies used in the sourcing, treatment, transport and disposal of water in drilling and completion of shale wells."
