Carowinds Introduces Camp Snoopy and Non-Stop Family Fun

Completely reimagined kids' area features five new rides and a big, shady playground. New Great Carolina Fest event will kick off summer. Free Pre-K pass good for ages 3-5.

CAROWINDS, Charlotte, N.C., March 20, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- As Carowinds opens its gates this year its youngest guests are the stars. Carowinds has transformed its kids' area into the new Camp Snoopy, featuring five new junior rides like Pig Pen's Mud Buggies and a soaring Camp Bus, and an 8,000-square-foot climb and play area with plenty of shade. A new fountain with shady pergolas serves as the centerpiece, offering a beautiful place for families to gather and relax. Wilderness-inspired theming and upgraded amenities add charm and practicality. Snoopy and the Peanuts gang will raise the camp flag for opening day at 10 a.m. on March 24.

To make room for all this family fun, the Character Carousel was relocated, refreshed and renamed. The Grand Carousel now sits in a striking new pavilion anchoring the newly renovated Carousel Park plaza, located near Vortex.

Also new for this year is Great Carolina Fest, a summer kick-off celebration of all the reasons we love the Carolinas. From food to music to iced tea on the porch and games on the lawn, it promises hometown fun for everyone. A new Cirque show debuting in June is sure to leave guests breathless. Scrumptious new menu items round out the offerings with a smoked brisket bacon cheeseburger, Carolina bird dog sandwich, s'mores funnel cake and more.

Carowinds introduced the Pre-K Pass this year, a budget-boosting free season pass that provides complimentary admission for kids three to five years old throughout the 2018 season, including The Great Pumpkin Fest and WinterFest. Online registration must be complete by May 28, 2018 and the deadline for in-person activation is June 17, 2018.

Gold season passes are available through May 28. A season pass lets guests come and go like they own the place, and pays for itself in less than two visits. Season pass holders – including pre-K passes – can get an exclusive preview of Camp Snoopy at season pass holder preview night on Friday, March 23. We are rolling out the red carpet for this special preview.
