Briggs & Stratton Redesigns Select Small Vertical Professional Series™ Engines

Redesign offers customers easier maintenance and improved durability

MILWAUKEE, Feb. 20, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Briggs & Stratton Corporation's small vertical Professional Series™ engine has been popular with both homeowners and light-commercial users for its high power, commercial-grade components and durability since its introduction. For the 2018 season, the company redesigned select models1 within the series to provide improved durability and easier maintenance.

Briggs & Stratton redesigns select small vertical Professional Series engines for easier maintenance and improved durability.

As part of the company's mission to make work easier and improve lives, the redesign sought to bring proven innovations from the EXi Series to the high-performance and durability expected of the Professional Series. Commercial-grade componentry continues to be a hallmark of the Professional Series. However, the redesign brings added durability to the 775, 850 and 875 Professional Series by moving the control package from the front to the side of the mower and incorporating an improved radial air filtration system to ensure only the cleanest air enters the engine. The ReadyStart® starting system gets a fresh look and remains backed by Briggs & Stratton's Starting Promise™ to start within two pulls or the company will fix it for free.2 In addition to these changes, the 775 and 875 Professional Series now also feature Just Check & Add™ technology to make engine maintenance for these premium users even easier because they never need to change the oil. 3

"Homeowners who use the Professional Series demand the very best in power, durability and performance," said Jeff Coad, vice president global marketing and product management of engines and power at Briggs & Stratton. "With this redesign, we took the best of our EXi Series and combined it with the best of the Professional Series to give them an option that's powerful, durable and now even easier to maintain with Just Check & Add."

The entire small vertical Professional Series line will continue to be manufactured at Briggs & Stratton's state-of-the-art Poplar Bluff facility in Missouri.4 Look for the redesigned Briggs & Stratton Professional Series engines on outdoor power equipment in early 2018 at retailers and authorized dealers.

1 Redesign applies only to the small vertical 775, 850 and 875 Professional Series engines.
