University of Michigan Surveys of Consumers

Surveys of Consumers are conducted by the Survey Research Center at the University of Michigan. The surveys ask consumers questions regarding their current and future financial standings and their thoughts on the economy at the present time and in the near future. The report includes analysis of the survey results and indices for consumer sentiment and consumer expectations. The surveys have long stressed the important influence of consumer spending and saving decisions in determining the course of the national economy.
