Canada Consumer Price Index Report

The Canada Consumer Price Index (CPI) is a widely used indicator of changes in consumer prices in Canada. The current basket of goods is based on 2011 weights. The CPI is utilized for deflating economic aggregates to measure them as constant dollar estimates as well as to obtain the value of a dollar required to maintain purchasing power. The current base period for the CPI is set at the year 2002.
