Ecuador's economy is heavily reliant on its petroleum resources, which account for more than half of the country's exports. Ecuador is also one of the largest exporters of bananas in the world. It has a GDP of $125.8 billion, placing it at 64th in the world. Ecuador adopted the US Dollar as its currency in 2000 as a means of stabilizing its economy.
