Located near the midline between Eastern Europe and Western Asia, Azerbaijan is the largest country in the Caucasus region of the world. With a nominal GDP of about $63 billion, Azerbaijan has the sixty-fifth largest economy in the world. With nearly two-thirds of the country rich in oil and natural gas reserves, the energy sector makes up the largest majority of GDP, while the banking, agriculture, and tourism sector secondary contributors.
