Back to Economic Data Main Page

Argentina is Latin America's third largest economy with a nominal GDP of $447.6 billion according to 2011 estimates, putting it at 27th in the world. The country benefits from a highly literate population, diversified industrial base, an export oriented agricultural sector and rich natural resources and has a firm foundation for future growth. However, historically, Argentina's economic performance has been volatile with periods of high economic growth alternated by severe recessions. Argentina is considered an emerging market and is one the G-20 major economies.
