The Republic of Angola is a country in southern Africa. Subsistence agriculture provides the main livelihood for 85% of the population of Angola despite having abundant natural resources. Oil production is vital to the economy and contributes over 50% to GDP, over 90% of export revenue, and over 80% of government revenue. Despite having an annual average GDP growth of 11.1% from 2001 to 2010, Angola remains poor and has one of the lowest per capita GDPs in the world.
