OIBDA

Definition

OIBDA is an acronym for 'Operating Income Before Depreciation and Amortization'. By using net operating income instead of net income, investors can see what is happening at the core business operations and ignore expenses such as tax deductions and long-term capital investments.

Because OIBDA it is a non-GAAP metric, there are no standards defining what the company should include in the calculation. It is often advised to use the multiple earnings calculations instead.

Formula

OIBDA = Operating Income + Depreciation + Amortization
