Definition

Interest Expense % (interest expense percentage) shows interest expenses as a percentage of gross income. It shows a specific aspect of a company's cost distribution.

In order to understand the distribution of a company's operating income towards expenses, investors observe the interest expense percentage and other expense metrics including the the capital expenditures percentage.

Formula

Interest Expense % = Interest Expense / Gross Income
