Existing Institutional Investors Buying/Selling

View Financial Glossary Index

Definition

Existing institutional investors buying/selling refers to the number of institutional investors already invested in the stock who bought/sold shares in the month.

For example, if Smith Holdings was already invested in Boeing and was the only institutional investor to purchase Boeing shares in July, existing institutional investors buying for the month of July would be equal to 1. The same would be true if Smith holdings were the only institutional investor to sell shares during the month of July, existing institutional investors selling would be equal to 1.
