Common Stock Dividends Paid

View Financial Glossary Index

Definition

The dividends paid to the common stock owners. Common stock owners generally receive dividends after preferred stockholders.

Formula

YCharts calculates it as:

= Total Stock Dividends Paid - Preferred Stock Dividends Paid

(Note that this is the aggregate value of dividends paid to all common stock shareholders. This is in contrast to dividends paid, which is usually quoted as a per share number.)
