Four Stocks Beating Apple Year-to-Date: What's it Take?
Apple (AAPL), as the stock market’s success story of the decade, has become its own benchmark. In a Wall Street Journal column, Jack Hough says nine companies that have beaten Apple so far this year. They include PulteGroup (PHM), Lennar (LEN), Gap (GPS), Sprint Nextel (S).
So what does it take to beat Apple? It takes a previous meltdown. As Hough points out, these are all comeback stocks that were beaten down. They're not powerhouses like Apple.
Given that, the easy money is probably already made in those stocks. Apple remains perhaps a better bet. It has better revenue growth.
And its earnings cost less.
