The University of Michigan is a public research university located in Ann Arbor, Michigan. It is a founding member of the Association of American Universities. Its research projects include the Thomson Reuters/University of Michigan Surveys of Consumers. The data collected in this monthly survey is used to produce an index of consumer sentiment and an index of consumer expectations.
