Winning percentage is the percentage of stocks in a portfolio purchased using a given strategy which go up in value over the holding period of the individual stocks.
For example, imagine that you buy 100 stocks at the beginning of a month and sell all 100 at the end of the month. If 60 of those stocks increased in value, your winning percentage for the month is 60%. YCharts's winning percentage numbers are calculated in a similar manner, just taking into account hundreds of months of trades.
