New York Community Bank (NYCB) is the savings bank subsidiary of the publicly traded company New York Community Bancorp. New York Community Bancorp is the fourth largest thrift in the United States and the largest in New York State. It is also the leading producer of multi-family loans for portfolio in New York City. The company provides services with two subsidiaries which include New York Community Bank, a New York State-chartered savings bank serving customers throughout Metro New York, New Jersey, Florida, Ohio, and Arizona; and New York Commercial Bank, a New York State-chartered commercial bank serving consumers and businesses in the New York City boroughs of Manhattan, Queens, and Brooklyn. It operates its business through two segments: Banking Operations and Residential Mortgage Banking. The company was formerly known as Queens County Bancorp, Inc. and changed its name to New York Community Bancorp, Inc. on November 21, 2000. It was founded on July 20, 1993 and is headquartered in Westbury, New York.
