Is Marissa Mayer Now Competing With Her Old Google Bosses, or Out to Decimate Facebook?

Marissa Mayer, as you’ve surely heard, is leaving Google (GOOG) to take over Yahoo (YHOO). Analysts, experts and Twitteratti cheered this surprise move, as stealing away Google’s employee #20 is the Silicon Valley equivalent of a midnight raid.

As YCharts explained here, Facebook looks a lot like a pre-teen Yahoo. They both invite people to their sites and try really, really hard to get them to stay. They are competing for the same eyeballs and ad dollars.

So yes, Mayer once dated and broke up with Larry Page. But she's over him. She is married now, expecting a kid, and the queen of a company that still gets a whole lotta traffic. Zuckerberg, watch your back.
