Facebook Has 1 Billion Users, But You Know Who Got There First?

Facebook’s (FB) clearly out to make sure everyone know it has one billion users. There’s a cover story in Businessweek, Mark Zuckerberg made an appearance on the Today Show, and of course there was the obligatory posting of the news on Facebook.

But you know who else has 1 billion users? Google (GOOG), which reached that milestone in June 2011, according to comScore. At that point, Google had 1 billion, Microsoft (MSFT) had 905 million, and Facebook had 713.6 million.

Google also has a business model, which delivers a better profit margin.
